Overview:

This is a gas dynamics molecular simulation.

The number of molecules shown depends on the chosen size.

You may:

  • Click on parameters (Parameters) to set initial values: number of atoms (up to 300), mass, diameter, temperature, time step, maximum speed.
  • Follow the evolution of one atom.


Suggestions:

You may:

  • Do various experiments by changing one parameter at a time.
  • Analyse how the distribution of speeds evolves with time.
  • Discuss the evolution of one molecule.
  • Figure out schematically how the simulation model has been programmed.
